About Hot Water Beach
Not all of Hot Water Beach is a thermal area, and the best spot to set up is between the two rocks on the beach.
The thermal activity happens year round - even in winter. As Hot Water Beach is a public beach, access is free! So check the tide times and wave conditions and book your Coromandel accommodation at Cathedral Cove Lodge Villas.
Safety on Hot Water Beach
Hot Water Beach is a well-known surfing spot with impressive swells. Swimming in the surf can be a hazard so take care and follow the guidance of lifeguards. Hahei Holiday Resort sponsors the Hotwater Beach Surf Club and you will see our name on the inflatable rescue boat (IRB) and some of the family members working as lifeguards. Check new and events on our family lifeguard team.
So remember to check the waves and the undertow and do not swim at night.
